Dragon Boat Day

Pyramid Holiday Park participated for the 4th year in the Kids in Need Dragon Boat Day at Jack Evans Harbour on Sunday 13th November 2011.

Teams from as far as Brisbane and Grafton pitted their maritime mettle against locals to raise funds for Kids in Need, an organisation that supports sick kids and their families.

The Pyramid Park team had a successful day just beaten by 0.44 seconds in the finals of the Corporate Section. With 33 teams competing, president of Tweed Heads Kids in Need, Mike Lawson said he was greatly impressed with the turnout.

"The weather was a bit unsettled, but it didn't dampen spirits," he said. "It's great to see people put in so much physical effort to help kids in need and their families."

The race is in its 26th year and started when someone at Kids in Need attended races in Sydney.
